A dedicated designer at MWA, Mia is driven by her passion for creating spaces that have a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. She finds it fascinating to work within tight constraints while crafting designs that beautifully serve people in their daily lives. For Mia, the magic of architecture lies in the construction process itself. She thrives on discovering the “why” behind design choices and how they can enhance everyday experiences for the people who use them. She is also passionate about adaptive reuse, universal design, and regenerative design, focusing on creating spaces that are accessible, sustainable, and beneficial to communities and the environment.

Mia actively participates in initiatives like Formation, a mentorship program supporting BIPOC students in design, that she helped launch this year with Diversity in Design. With a passion for creating meaningful spaces and a love for thoughtful, sustainable design, Mia is excited to continue contributing to MWA’s mission.

At MWA, Mia enjoys the vibrant workplace culture. She values her coworkers immensely, learning from them every day while contributing her own enthusiasm and fresh perspective. The firm’s celebrations and events foster a strong sense of appreciation, making MWA a truly enjoyable place to work.

Beyond architecture, Mia enjoys reading, exploring Portland’s neighborhoods, hiking, baking, and playing sports like tennis, pickleball, and kickball (which she even has a championship win for!).
