Energy Modeling Intern
In her second year at the University of Oregon’s School of Architecture and Design, Jessie is excited to be a part of the team at MWA Architects. As the Energy Modeling Intern, she supports the firm’s efforts to achieve sustainability goals outlined in our Sustainability Action Plan, as well as the requirements of the 2030 Commitment. Utilizing Sefaira software, she generates each project’s predicted Energy Use Intensity (pEUI), a measure of the building’s expected energy efficiency. The collected project data and pEUI metrics will be submitted to the AIA Design Data Exchange to track progress towards MWA’s sustainability goals.
Jessie wanted to be an architect since middle school when she saw a presentation about the field of architecture at the University of Oregon’s Portland campus. She still stands by the career decision she made at age 12 and loves the structured unpredictability of design as well as the problem-solving process that comes with each job. As we navigate MWA’s first reporting year of the 2030 commitment, Jessie will be instrumental in helping us organize and streamline our process of collecting and recording data to make progress towards net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2030.
