MWA’s 2025 promotions recognize individuals for their leadership, commitment to a more equitable and sustainable future, and for embodying our values. Congratulations to Leslee, Alan, Melissa, Allison, Trevor, Steven, and Kate!

Leslee Randolph, Director of Transportation and Resource Management (TRM)

Leslee Randolph has been promoted to Director of Transportation and Resource Management (TRM). Leslee leads a team that brings together planning, programming, project management, innovative design, and construction administration expertise to serve clients in the public transportation, aviation, solid waste, and infrastructure sectors. While based in our Portland, Oregon, office, Leslee will serve clients across the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast regions.

Alan Armstrong, Director of Infrastructure, Senior Associate

Alan Armstrong returns to MWA as Director of Infrastructure in our Portland office. Alan has over 20 years of experience in architectural design for public infrastructure, with a focus on water operations and treatment projects. Alan’s leadership will drive MWA’s success in delivering thoughtful, high-quality solutions for clients in the public water and energy sectors. Alan has also been promoted to Senior Associate, where he will focus his leadership efforts internally to support our team and further refine MWA’s technical processes. With deep experience in the infrastructure sector, Alan brings strong leadership and empowers his team to do their best work.

Melissa Guarin, Senior Associate

Melissa Guarin has been promoted to Senior Associate at MWA Architects. As a Project Architect with over 20 years of diverse design experience, Melissa approaches projects from different perspectives that add depth to her designs. An integral part of our Sustainability Studio, Melissa sees sustainable design as an essential practice and is experienced in sustainability, LEED, and resilient design. As Senior Associate, Melissa will use her leadership as an opportunity to mentor staff, further develop internal education, and assist technical processes within the firm.

Allison Plass, Senior Associate

As the Interior Environments Studio Lead and Project Manager, Allison is a skilled listener and communicator, weaving creativity into her process when managing project teams. Allison is passionate about collaborating with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to inspire creative problem-solving and produce exceptional work. As a Senior Associate, Allison brings her creativity to MWA’s Leadership Team, focusing on providing mentoring, training, and technical support to her team.

Trevor Gotfredson, Senior Associate

Trevor is a Project Manager in the San Francisco Infrastructure Studio, leading projects and fostering relationships. His promotion to Senior Associate acknowledges his strong leadership skills and overall positive contribution to the firm. As a Senior Associate, Trevor is working to improve and articulate MWA’s design process and the quality of our products and buildings.

Steven Ohlhaber, Associate

Steven is a Project Manager at MWA’s Portland Infrastructure Studio who loves working with people. He has twenty years of architectural experience, and still, his favorite aspect of the job is learning. Steven enjoys being a Project Manager because he is always learning about people, architecture, and expanding his knowledge of business. In return, he gets to share that knowledge with his team. Steven sees his new role as Associate as an opportunity to provide leadership to the project team and help implement MWA’s values into our processes and work life.

Kate Kearney, Associate

Passionate about strategic planning, Kate is excited to apply her business development and strategic marketing skills to the growth of the firm. As an associate, Kate will bring her marketing perspective to MWA’s leadership team, centered on supporting clients and end-users with effective and compassionate communication. Kate takes on an active mentorship role with her team and the broader community. As the Senior Marketing Manager, she advocates for her team’s career growth with continued education and support.
