While a functional industrial building, the Sobrante Ozonation Facility is a flagship for the District, drawing visitors from both the water industry and the general public. The modernist architecture of the new facility provides a unifying design for the existing campus. MWA kept the lines of the building simple and clean, visually appropriate for a facility providing pure water. The exterior is an expanse of sandblasted concrete and terne metal roofing. Skylights dominate both the interior and exterior.
