Fruitvale Transit Village

Oakland, CA

MWA was the interior designer for the Fruitvale Transit Village, a multifamily housing, civic and retail complex located next to the Fruitvale BART station.

MWA designed the interiors for two, 2-story buildings, including the new Cesar Chavez Branch Library for the Oakland Public Library system, a senior center, a day care center and offices for the Unity Council and the Fruitvale Development Corporation. Our work included planning for nearly 36,500 square feet of retail space, working with the developer to establish tenant design criteria, and providing tenant improvement services for many retail tenants.
